A long off-season gives you a lot of time to think and in this episode, I think about how difficult it is to get news from the Quakes. It may not all be bad news though, that leaves an opportunity for anyone that wants answers to questions no one is asking.... Is it March yet?

This episode is much longer than usual and it could have been twice as long if it not for battery limitations. I sit down with entrepreneur, investor, and San Jose Earthquakes forward Quincy Amarikwa for a long conversation about his insatiable hustle which has led not only to a professional soccer career but the creation of several companies.

Now that I have had some time to digest the rollercoaster that was the San Jose Earthquakes 2017 season I sit down with my loyal sidekick, my girlfriend, who joined me for every game this year to talk about what we saw. Really, it's mostly 45 minutes of Oz raving about the Whole Foods on The Alameda.

With five games left in the season, the Quakes are in a 4 team battle for one of the remaining playoff spots. Luckily 3 of those games are at home, unfortunately, the first one in at DC United which may not go as planned for our beloved Los Terremotos.

This week, I do my best to avoid talking about the massacre in the Great White North that occurred last Saturday at BMO Field. To quote Dennis Green, "They were who we thought they were." On a more positive note, Salinas is one step closer to claiming its place among the best soccer cities in the country. On Tuesday the Monterey County Board of Supervisors approved a land-swap deal with the city of Salinas that is the next step in adding over 40 acres of soccer pitches to the already 26 acres that are available at the Constitution Soccer Complex.

This episode was recorded during the last international break so there was little news coming out of the Quakes and MLS so I went in a different direction. I finally started using an intro that I put together last year featuring 4 of the most memorable calls in my recent soccer history and I take this episode to explain what every call means to me.

The Quakes get a tie by the hair of their chinny chin chin at home against Philly which makes me feel warm and fuzzy as a Quakes fan. Also, can MLS take advantage of a possible NFL work stoppage in 2021? I pull out my inner Nostradamus and figure it out.

This week, my voice sounds different because the Quakes played so bad against Houston that I got a cold from watching it. Just like the Quakes playoff hopes, I cling to life as I talk about how slim those hopes are and how glad I am that they are back in San Jose.

This is my recap of the San Jose Earthquakes heartbreaking loss in the US Open Cup Semi-Finals. A couple of months ago who would have predicted that they would be one goal away from a championship game. 

The San Jose Earthquakes played three games on the road and gave up 12 goals. It was a tough way to end the Leitch honeymoon but they are back home and back to winning and scoring goals. Also, the new tunnel connecting the Avaya parking lot with the Santa Clara Caltrain Station means it is even easier to pre-game downtown!

This week, the Chris Leitch honeymoon is over and the Quakes need to figure out a way to get some goals. At least when the lose they do so in a spectacular manner.

It took a couple of weeks to release this episode, but here is my wrap-up of the Cali Clasico at Stanford.

In this episode, Dominic Kinnear is out as head coach of the Quakes. There is no joy or celebration from this difficult move but now the Quakes must move on with the next chapter in their history. Also, if this team wins the US Open Cup but misses the playoffs, would that be the most Quakes-like thing they have done in their history?

This week, the International break gives me more time to complain and I take full advantage. I also give a quick rundown of the American soccer pyramid before jumping into an update on the Burlingame Dragons.

This week, I have a new enemy in Jelle Van Damme after the Quakes lose the Clasico at home. 

In this episode, I talk about my annoyance with MLS using NFL marketing tactics to try to attract new fans. It is a different sport that needs a different approach. Also, my quest to finish in the top half of all players in MLS fantasy continues.

This week, I turn 30 so in my honor the Quakes defoliated the Timbers 3-0. Dom is still on the hot seat but it cooled down a bit with this win. 

In this episode, breakups are hard but sometimes it's what best for both involved. I think it's time for the front office and Dominic Kinnear to sit down and have a talk.

This week, my happy optimism at the start of the season has given way to a sad reality, the Quakes are back to being their same boring selves. Instead of trying to make sense of it, I go back to attacking my old nemesis, the playoffs. 

In this episode, the Quakes revert back to an older form of flick the ball towards Wondo and hope for the best. Sometimes it works, most of the time you miss the playoffs with no hope for the future.

The Quakes are off for the international break but Avaya still hosted a major soccer game last weekend. The Quakes come back this Saturday against NYCFC.

Week 2 of the Quakes season end with a dramatic comeback at Avaya.

The regular season had finally started and the Quakes start the schedule with an impressive win at Avaya. 

MLS is back and I am stoked, and for the first year, I am not the only one in my social circle that shares that feeling. Maybe those news reports about MLS and its growing popularity are true, maybe it's more fake news and Garber and Co are using "alternative facts" to deceive the world. No one would ever do that. Would they?

Now that the pre-season schedule is in full swing I am back for my first show of the new year. In this episode, I talk about the new signings the Quakes have made and the light that seems to be coming to view at the end of a tunnel.
